Why Do You Get Seven Years of Bad Luck if You Break a Mirror?
Some superstitions are not rooted in science or fact. The idea that breaking a mirror means seven years of bad luck appears to have come from the ancient Romans. Your fingers grow faster if you're right-handed and your fingernails on your left hand will grow just a little faster than they do if you're left handed. You don't lose more body heat through your head than through other parts of your body. A garter is an old fashioned piece of fabric that you pull up on your leg and tie to hold your stockings up. If you can picture your guts, they're like long tubes all kind of coiled up inside your body.
