The Human Side of Politics
There's been a long history of research into who our politicians are, but very little of it actually engages with them as participants in a research project. The ability to access MPs for research is incredibly hard and you come up against the added ethical dilemmas of highly politicized fears about confidentiality. I've constantly found that politicians are very wary of conducting interviews in person near a parliamentary estate because they fear being overheard or weaponizing their words.
