The Clippers could waive Chris Paul and then stretch the money they owe to him over the course of five seasons. They would actually be able to clear enough room that they could use the full mid level exception, which is about 11 million dollars. The idea of bringing him back is not on the table in that regard. He's 38 years old, obvious durability issues.
