The first thing is to kind of follow a methodology, which is, what is it that my user wants to see? If they only need to see that it came from this application and goes to that application, that may be as deep as you need to go. Anif you do application to application n lineage, you could just draw up the lineage in an hour. But if you want that kind of lineage and you need to do it manually, that means you have to dig deeper. And finally, the last question i think needs to get asked when you get into those hybrid situations is, how many?

Data lineage is the roadmap for your data platform, providing visibility into all of the dependencies for any report, machine learning model, or data warehouse table that you are working with.
