Pastoral Responsibility in a Church?

In a church community, it feels like there's a different dynamic that needs to be respected. I have a great therapist who said, and this will get back to what we're saying, but she asked me once, "Who's wounds are you trying to heal when you teach? Are they your wounds?" In a podcast, I don't feel like I can, I have that same sort of back end responsibility. But when I'm teaching in a church, I'm thinking about the benefit of the community as well.
