Daniel Denver: All is not well in the settler colony, which, of course, it never was. In Israel, the internal contradictions of the Zionist project have been building up since the 1948 NACPA and before. On one level, Zionism is a cohesive settler colonial project ruling over Palestinians as a second-class citizens within the Green Line. But the Zionist project is at war not only against Palestinians, but also with itself polarized along class and ethnic lines. We discuss the current conflict in Israeli politics and then historicize it in terms of how the social democracy inflected labor Zionist settlercolonial project that founded Israel gave way to the right wing far right government we see today.
Featuring Edo Konrad and Joshua Leifer on how Zionism's long-running contradictions led to the current political crisis in Israel.
