Designers struggle with the 'slow and fast' dichotomy. They want to go fast but there's an expectation of going fast, they say. But at the same time you do need to produce a code that users will actually use. The discovery phase on a high level is the first diamond - it isn't necessarily something you do in a week or two weeks or whatever just before development sprint.
