The Singularity: The Future of Computing
The singularity was a hypothetical eventuality as the end state that was proposed by Ray Kurtzweil. The idea is that the compounding returns of more data, more AI, better computers will keep going faster and faster until it reaches basically like infinite growth rate. We only have so much electricity. There's only so much water to cool the data centers. So if this rate of acceleration continues, we might get close to those thermodynamic limits sooner rather than later.
