When I started writing the book, I wrote. the introductory matter and then I started writing a section on phonology. And when I sent it to my editor she emailed me back and said, we had imagined that the book would be 72,000 words total. So I decided to kind of condense some things like I thought, well, all right, maybe I won't go into describing in full detail how the systems of clicks works. It's not bad. Many things get covered.
