The Pre-Strike Model of Hollywood
The 88 Writers Guild Strike shut down things. These writers then were going home and they would work on spec scripts. They weren't able to develop and they weren't even able to talk to the student. By the 90s, you had these agents who got really good at selling these million dollar spec scripts. And I think the spec market drove in a lot of ways that you see in the 90s as far as the kind of content that was easily pitched out.
