There is something funny about being the only creature on this planet that is aware of its own mortality. The very fact that you are alive means that you are investing in existence. I believe in the sanctity of human life but I'm also wearing the fundamental absurdity of human life. To be able to laugh at that is actually to transcend... In a certain sense to transcend, definitely.
