Ron DeSantis has high name recognition, not as high as Trump, but certainly pretty close. Big donors are disproportionately soured on Donald Trump and are willing to support anyone who they think has the best chance of overtaking him. Mike Pence, the former vice president, is rumored to be launching a bid fairly soon. Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin might apparently think about sticking his toes in if Andesantis doesn't do very well.

After a glitchy announcement on Twitter, the Florida governor’s campaign is off to a shaky start. And despite strong donor backing, he will struggle to secure the Republican party nomination.
