Experts looked at the biomechanics of an athlete and how they run. Running with a lower cadence or potentially, over striding could put more load through hamstring. A large heel strike out in front of your body might also be putting pressure on that region. Even athletes are sitting a bit lower when they run to avoid hip flexion.
