The Importance of Outreach

When I was first reading methods of rationality there used to be that little disclaimer or intro that was like if you want to learn everything Harry knows come over here. It's a couple of encyclopedias worth of text. And if you're not into Harry Potter fanfic or Ellie has this particular style of fiction and humor then that's going to be a hard sell. On one hand it keeps the community more tightly focused on the sort of semi-autistic people like us who are really into this thing and select it naturally.
