Miles: It can be very easy to look at a development race and think that you're looking at something highly adversarial where both parties just want to win. But actually game theory can be kind of useful here it can sometimes be a little bit um you know idealizing but you can learn some really important lessons there, he says. Miles: Some of the features that i anticipate occurring in ai development are really conducive towards collaborative races more than kind of adversarial races. The mechanisms that make collaboration easier so even if you were to worry that something was going to be adversarial it can actually end up being the case  and often these mechanisms have been successful in other domains.
