I was always surprised that people that I knew cared about me were so adamantly opposed to the path that I was picking for myself. And you know, would stand in opposition within reason to really try to keep me on the path that they had charted out for me. That's why I think the war of art and things like that are helpful was because you should expect resistance. You should expect the people that are in your tribe to not understand. And you shouldn't spend a lot of time trying to get their buy in to what you want to do with your life because it's wasted breath at best. And at worst, it's you're igniting them to oppose you.
