How Does LIDAR Help Archaeology?
LIDAR gives you a window to look at a landscape from above that people working in the southwestern United States have been able to do just by simply having an airplane. South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is using LIDAR to help understand not only where archaeological sites are at, but track and erosion. When you put all these tools together, that gives you a much different it makes archaeology function much differently. The accuracy is that we can get within a few centimeter precision of elevation.
