The great society relies on our ability to cooperate and co ordinate with people that have a great social distance from us. You no think about voltaire, the jew, the gentile and the moslem, but yet they're able to co ordinate and co operate with one another because they're in the market place,. So we put all our eggs in the efficiency basket for eca when e should have been also putting eggs in the basket for the civility aspect of economics.
