Foreign Policy - Is This a Legitimate Exemption to a Broadly Free Trade Approach?

i honestly feel like i'm having dejafu here to all the discussions that we have about the trump administration's foreign policy. You know, we haven't pursued the tried and true methods, and were instead pursuing quite a radical medicine for for no clear reason yi. I think what free traders really emphasize, is that it deserves the exact same level of scrutiny any other government intervention in a market economy. Just because the national security flag is waved, doesn't mean you just suddenly turn your brain off and stop examining the actual justifications for that national security decision.
