Artemitroitsky is a culture journalist and music critic. He was working on an independent TV news channel that supported democracy. As soon as he heard news of the coup, he headed out onto the streets. Artemi noticed a sense of dread making its way through the crowd. The Soviet people had turned up. They weren't going to roll over and let the tanks take away their hopes.
