The US Treasury Bonds Are Exempt From State and Local Taxes

US Treasury bonds can be bought directly from the US government using Treasury direct. If at any point you decide, like let's say you buy a long dated Treasury like a 10 or 30 year, you can then simply have that bond transferred from your Treasury Direct account to your brokerage account and sell it in the open market. Is there risk in apple bonds? Probably not. They're going to mature. So right now you have an apple apple bonds that are trading pretty close to Treasury bonds. It's price given that it's price and yield are going to move up and down with Treasury bonds. The upside is very limited because no one will ever buy an apple bond or never say never but you
