Does the Finance People Understand the Purity of Sport?
Sport has become so big that the money people in charge of it have a hypocrisy about them, says Simon Hooper. It's hard to condemn this as a moral failing because they've been taught: if it makes money, it must be good er. So were every time and again, sport looks not for the best in itself, but for the most profitable in itself. And you even talk about nations states now, though one might argue that musselini understood that and the thirties in terms ade politics. But the money now sport, as we've seen with the rather unsightly amgreed that we've seen in golf, is a greedy sport.
