The Importance of a Custom Back Off Strategy

The auto reconnect feature was originally designed to be unattended. But some users, they want this functionality just to work. They didn't want to monitor the platform to see if they've gone from wireless to GSM and other in background as it disconnected. The more interesting kind of thing to me is sometimes I may want to have a custom back off strategy,. Like why do I lose in connection? Is it the guys in an airplane and he's got his phone on and he's not able to connect. He's in airplane mode. You know what I mean? That's kind of thoughts that comes to my mind.
