I'm thinking here rather than of a visual illusion like that, I'm thinking of the evolution of the Labrador's eyebrows. They're what we call cognitively impenetrable in psychology. And it's very hard to ignore that and also a very sophisticated robot would be incredibly good at doing that. But my question then is at the moment, you sound quite confident that we think that's an illusion. You have an incredibly effective simulation of experiencing. And therefore, there doesn't become an ethical point. We have to give the benefit of the doubts,. The thing that in every respect brilliantly demonstrates everything you could reasonably expect it to show if it was sentient.
