I Am the Light of the World
Part of the Feast of Tabernacles was Israel steeping themselves in this story of light, God leading our people out of darkness. They would light these 75 foot like burning bush, menorah candles that were so bright they could be seen for miles and miles away. Against this backdrop, specifically this backdrop, is where Jesus says in John 9.5, what we just read,. but also a little bit earlier in chapter 8 verse 12: I am the light of the world.
