He places a lot of emphasis on specialization in highly technical production processes. What Taiwan has is basically process technology. And the Taiwan Simon conductor TSMC has the world's best engineers for figuring out how to actually etch onto circuits in silicon wafers chips that don't fail when they go through the machine.
