Intralippa in a Suspected Amneotic Fluid Embolism
intralippa is an emulsion of soybean oil, egg yolk, phosphor lipids and glyceral. It's used as part of the components of total parentral nutrition to give the fatty acids that people need if they are getting all their nutrition through the vein. The first thought was that what this did was created like a lipid sink in the plasma where the drug would get drawn into. Is now the thinking there's a lot more to it than just providing a lip it sink, and we'll talk about that a little bit.
