If you're surprised by what you'll get, then it's too late. You should be a higher level understanding of that these will be the critical points. If you have collected certain endpoints or you can't cut your data because you haven't collected these covariates, which I have seen as well, then you're in trouble. And then maybe millions or billions of dollars that your company has invested is at risk.
