The US has the highest infant mortality rate of any industrialized nation. Black women are three times more likely to die from pregnancy related complications than white women. A panel at this year's Brains from Health discussed the roots of the mortality crisis in Black maternal health. It was one of the most powerful sessions of the conference, in my opinion.
