Anesthesia - What Is It Used For?

The study of anaesthesia creates an amazing testing ground for all neuro science. Emory has all his data and information about the brain. He and his mathematical modeller friends write equations where variables represent things like levels of brain activity, concentrations of certain chemicals. They then solve these equations in a computer to create models of how the different brain wave patterns are produced. All this is important for anaesthesia as part of medicine but it's also important well beyond that.
