The Importance of Justification in Diagnostic Medical Imaging

There's a lot of controversy in this low dose region where diagnostic medical imaging occurs, but there are the epidemiology studies now that are showing that from diagnostic exposures there are increased risks. I think it's quite an abstract decision that radiologists need to undertake each time they're justifying and approving any type of imaging request. But it is still a pertinent decision when we're trying to reduce risk. We have to get the balance right and we have to have the discussion.
