How I Got Into PHP and Just Programming in General

I was always fascinated with handheld calculators. Later I didn't want to stay in programming too much because I wanted to become an environmental scientist. But the mixture of programming and working for a good cause is at the end what brought me into web development. And I'm still here 15 years later. Once bit and never go back. Yes. Well, so then how did you get into PHP and just programming in general before that?
