Is the Left Right a Far Right Philosophy?

If people felt a lot of trust in their government, they wouldn't give any attention to some extremists who's trying to rise to power. Some even point it back to Watergate and say that Watergate was like a big turning point for the US. Most of us don't trust politicians on the right or on the left. I feel like there's validity with certain principles and points and philosophies across the spectrum. But when the desperation is high enough and a populist leader achieves their goal of riling up people against an enemy, then they are willing to start saying, yes, we will do whatever it takes for you to succeed"
