The Challenges of Intubation in Emergency Medicine

Anatomic challengers versus physiologic challenges. Most of the time we intubate in ED is not for airway protection. It's for other reasons and when we use terminology poorly like that, it confuses people. We do a disservice to our trainees and ourselves when we lump all these problems together so I break them down.
