Introduction

Claire Louise Bennett is the author of Pond and more recently Checkout 19. Her debut Pond is about a young woman who having given up on an academic career moves to a small house in rural Ireland. Checkout 19, her new book published seven years after the first tracks the adolescence and early adulthood of a young woman through the lens of the books that have shaped her life.
