Stephen Jenkins established Third Eye Blind Incorporated as a corporation, naming himself as the corporation's sole owner and shareholder without telling anybody else in the band. The main reason they end up signing with electra besides the huge payday was that Sylvia Ron was so into them that she promised them creative control. They signed for $1.2 million, which I think at the time was reported as the biggest deal ever for an unsigned act.
