Connor and Shiv's Relationships

When Connor sent Roman a picture of their father's cadaver, it sent him into the meltdown we saw in front of Matzinn. I can't help thinking Connor did it on purpose. Kendall asked for the picture which makes sense. But Roman specifically said he didn't want to see it. Why did Connor send it then? It doesn't feel very Connor.
