We weren't prepared for the isomosis event that happened and when it happened life changed for the worse. Information now chases you around like a lawyer who chases ambulances. Marketing and advertising exists but actual human marketers and advertisers have been replaced by systems that continually scrape us. Aggressive data scraping led to the death of search and to the birth of aggressive curation and recommendation which means paradoxically the end of you finding what you actually want. Given what I'm seeing today I think we have like an 80-20% chance of things going in a direction that we want.
