The First Space Treaty
The United Nations decided to come up with some rules and set up a committee on the peaceful uses of outer space. After eight years of discussions, agreement was reached and the first space law was drafted. It's stated that nations adventuring into space were bound by certain rules. The treaty still stands today and provides the legal base for all space activity.
