The Role of Executive Order 10450 in the Lavender Scare
James Webb resigned from his position in 1952 and conspicuously, the extra legal highly publicized firings of LGBTQ workers ended when Webb left. Executive order 10450 was not signed into law until 1953. These were simply vigilante acts of anti-LGBTQ discrimination that formed the basis for future, more institutionalized forms of anti- LGBTQ discrimination.
