The Importance of Labeling Eggs
In Australia, when you walk into any supermarket, the big supermarket chains, you can buy three categories of eggs. There's a box that says on it clearly eggs from caged hens; another box that says something like barn laid eggs. And then there's a third category which has free range eggs and those hens are required to have access to the outdoors. In some cases, we'll tell you how many hens per acre you're looking for - not more than 500 hens peracre would be reasonable stocking density.
