Both of my parents grew up in the Middle East. They had such a volatile marriage and the volatility was clearly one-ended. My earliest recollection of being around my parents is pretty much them fighting. In primary school, mornings were very difficult for me because I found it really difficult to finish my breakfast. She would sit me in the kitchen and she would just watch me drink or eat. And if I didn't do it at a pace that she was happy with, she would immediately start screaming at me.
