How Many Gold Medals Did Japan Win?

Japan won a number of gold medals in an international sporting event in February. What country was it in? Do you know? I don't remember the month. In June, and this is before they fully opened in October, you had to be part of a tour group. Japan started to allow foreign tourists into Japan but there were some strict limits on tourists. They only let very short people into Japan. And it kind of pissed people off.
