The Dollar in the Seventies Should Have Been More Attractive Than the Dollar Today

The dollar was destroyed against those currencies over that decade. The dollar didn't rebound until 19 80, 19 81 time frame when volgar really got serious about fighting inflation. We had interest rates that were allowed to rise as high as the market wanted to take them. And the market took rates up to 20 % when the inflation rate was no higher than 13 and a half%. So from that perspective, the dollar in the seventies should have been more appealing than the dollar to day.
