Moody's Ratings on US Banks During the Pandemic
Moody's has been reviewing the situation from many US lenders. The focus of our rating actions were on institutions that had a weak deposit franchises or funding. Lower capital high and realized losses on their investment portfolios and fixed rate loans. And also those institutions that had commercial real estate concentrations. Smaller banks are more exposed to CRE, as we all know, is more strained.
