Sherrilyn Ifill: I didn't even know that participatory budgeting was a thing in my neighborhood. We could not have moved forward in protecting that site without community showing up, she says. "I don't often have to convince people to do it, but I do have to explain that it will be real," Sherrilyn adds. 'This is powerful and it allows us to do things that maybe we didn't think about before'
