Gloria Steinem: A large proportion of white women are dependent on the identity and incomes of white men so they may be voting the interests of their husbands. "We believe that we somehow have a stake in their happiness," she says. It is kind of crucial where your income is coming from and who your neighbors are and what you know, writes Steinem.
