Lafayette is a sort of six degrees of kevan bacon with this guy, where he's connected to everybody. Like anybody you can think of, probably at some point he's at least one person adjacent to. So these people were not living in separate bubbles, in separate worlds. French history was not taking place separate from british history. And that wasn't place separate from the history of the united states of america. These things were interconnected, and people like lafayette absolutely represent that.
