Socrates believed that when things are given names, it is because that name reflects some of the essence of this thing. He would be really pissed if I named my like gigantic, you know, Burmese Mountain Dog cupcake for example. That's not the true name of that dog unless it's a very cuddly dog Socrates and you don't know.
