The Controversial Truth About Overweight
One interpretation of these results is that we've got the definition of overweight wrong. Maybe we should only start asking people to lose weight if they reach a higher BMI of 30. If that's right, that would be big news for those with larger body sizes. But it might be a bit soon to leap to that conclusion just from this study. Sometimes large population studies like this can generate some spurious results. For instance, it was based on people's self-reported height and weight,. That has potential for errors to creep in. I think this will be a topic that gets growing attention in future. And it's actually pretty controversial among doctors.
